The Services

JikTools provides free utilities, including JikDown, a tool that runs in your browser or extension and saves video that you choose. By using the Services you agree to these Terms.

Free of charge, including commercial use

The Services are provided free of charge. Individuals and businesses may use them free of charge, including for commercial purposes, as long as they follow these Terms.

Your responsibilities

Save only content that you own, that is in the public domain, or that you otherwise have the legal right to save. You are solely responsible for complying with copyright law, the terms of the websites you save from, and all other applicable laws. You must not use the Services to:

• infringe the rights of others;
• circumvent copy protection, DRM or other access controls;
• overload or disrupt the servers of other websites.

What is not supported

The Services do not save content protected by DRM, and we do not help to circumvent such protection. YouTube is not supported. In this version live streams, DASH (.mpd) streams and videos with a separate audio track are also not supported. Some sites may be blocked on purpose.

HLS streams in TS format are supported only with H.264 video and AAC audio; other codecs (such as HEVC or AC-3) are not converted. HLS in fMP4 format and progressive files (MP4 / WebM) are saved as they are.

Third-party content, sites and links

We do not host, review or control the content of other websites or the content you save from them. Links to third-party sites, including sponsored links, are provided for convenience; their terms and privacy policies apply once you follow them. Web fonts are loaded from a third-party network as described in the Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property and open source

Rights in the JikTools software and website belong to the operator or its licensors. Open-source components are provided under their own licences. Content you save remains the property of its owners; the Services give you no rights in it.

Disclaimer

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that they will work with every website. We are not responsible for the content you save or for how you use it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Services.

Changes and termination

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services, block abusive use, and update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. If you keep using the Services after an update, you accept the updated Terms.
