Our policy

JikTools respects intellectual property rights and responds to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

The Services do not host, store or relay the videos that people save with them. Saving happens on the user's own device, directly from the source website. To remove infringing content itself, please contact the website that hosts it. We can act on material and links on jiktools.com.

How to send a notice

Send a written notice to the DMCA contact email below. It must include all of the following:

  1. a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on its behalf;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
  3. identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail (such as the page address) for us to locate it;
  4. your name, postal address, telephone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act for the copyright owner.

What we do

When we receive a notice that meets these requirements, we review it and may remove or disable access to the material or links concerned, and inform the person who is affected. Notices that are incomplete may not be acted on.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same contact email. It must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;
  4. your name, postal address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the court for your address and will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We may forward the counter-notice to the complainant and may restore the material unless the complainant tells us it has started court action.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances we block access for, or remove links to, parties who are repeat infringers.

Misrepresentations

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages.
