Speaker test

A tone plays on the left and then on the right; answer which side you heard it from. This test only plays sound and does not use the microphone.

Everything is measured inside this page. The measured values and results are not sent, saved or recorded.

Measure

Turn the device volume down before you start. With earphones or headphones, hold them a little away from your ears at first, then raise the volume until you can hear the tone. Each tone plays only briefly.

Criteria used

These are the criteria this test applies. The values and the basis come from the same table the test judges with.

Item Criterion Value Basis
One side silent Answers: not heard JikCheck initial criterion 1 Internal criterion: if the user answers “not heard” for the side that was played, for left or right, the result is Outside criteria (user confirmed). Advice to check how it is worn, the volume and the output device comes first.
Left and right swapped Answers: opposite side JikCheck initial criterion 1 Internal criterion: if the user answers with the side opposite to the one played, the result is Check needed (advice on the way it is worn and on wiring; no card is shown because the device may not be the cause).
Sides not separated Answers: both sides JikCheck initial criterion 1 Internal criterion: if the user answers “both sides” for a tone played on one side, the result is Check needed (advice on the mono audio setting; no card is shown because the device may not be the cause).

How to use and FAQ

How do I use the speaker test?

Press Start, press Play left tone and answer which side you heard it from. Do the same for the right side, then choose Show result. You can show the result after answering for one side only, but until both sides are answered all three items show “Cannot judge”.

The sound is too loud or too quiet.

This page keeps the volume of the tone fixed. Adjust it with the volume of the device or the operating system. It is safest to start low and raise it a little at a time.

The left tone is heard on both sides.

Mono audio may be switched on in the accessibility settings of the operating system, or a Bluetooth device may be in mono mode. Check the settings and measure again.

Is the result proof for an exchange or warranty claim?

No. The result is a reference measurement based on your own answers. Follow the seller’s or manufacturer’s rules for exchange and repair.
